TWIL #33 - Docklands Light Railway

Greetings! In this show I interview two top guys from the Docklands Light Railway. I hope you enjoy it. It's my usual blend of interesting background information combined with my irreverant prattlings.

You can play the podcast by clicking the PuPu Player (no, really) up there at the top of the page. Alternatively you can listen to the show here:

I have one of the DLR Goody Bags here if anyone wants it enough. Best comment detailing why they should have it will get it.

Music is by
Twelfth Night - Sequences
Wes Brookes - Parka
Black Lab - Ghost In Your Mind

  1. I have to say I really enjoyed the podcast. I'm a rail buff and I was excited to hear that there is an interesting light rail line in London. I wish I had known about it when I was visiting there last year, I would have made it a point to ride it. It will have to be on my list of things to do for my next visit. The 2 gentlemen you interviewed sound like they love working for the rail line. (By the way, great interview!)

I loved hearing the full version of the Twelfth Night song, the "over the top" line was a fixture on your podcast for so long.
Also, The Black Lab song is awesome.

  2. Thanks Steven. Are you on Facebook? Check out the Facebook group about the DLR. Sitting at the front of the train pretending to be the driver is actually pretty cool!

  3. I love riding on the DLR for the "roller coaster" type feel, but also because the DLR has the most amusingly named station on the whole Underground system: Mudchute. It provokes a giggle every time I encounter it!

  4. Ahh yes - good old Mudchute. That station has a number of stories to tell. Check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mudchute for an idea about it and then take a look at http://www.mudchute.org/. The Farm is a great place and well worth a visit.

  5. Thanks for the links about Mudchute. Who knew so much could come from a big old slab of mud? I would be interested in the DLR Goody Bag because . . . well, my devotion to Mudchute speaks for itself! :)

  6. Hi Lisanne

It's all yours! Can you email me a mailing address so I can get it to you. It's best you don't post it here. Congratulations!
